Sorry I just don't understand people today!

So you sell a set of wheels to a person and forget one of the caps when you go meet him. Tell the guy to text you the address and he send it to you.

12 days later no cap and he isn't going to send it. And I'm the AH calling him out on it! :ybrick:

This is the America you get when there is no accountability or personal responsibility........get yours and screw everybody else! I hope You can buy a cap from the maker or Ebay.
 
Common sense is not so common, the world would be a better place if people just practice common sense. good luck with getting the cap..
 
When you have time, get your Bible out and read 2Timothy3:1-5.
You will then have a better understanding of what's going on in the world today.
 
Last Summer somebody broke into my 95 Nissan pickup. They broke a window to get in and stole the faceplate off the radio. Not the radio - just the faceplate! They also took all the papers from the glovebox; but nothing of real value. They missed a nice multi-tool I had in the center console. Go figure. So now I don't keep anything in any of our vehicles with our info on it. I keep a copy of reg, ins in my wallet instead.

Maybe he never had the missing cap in the first place and just misrepresented that he did just to get rid of his wheels?

Though he may also be lacking common sense, in this case he's lacking common courtesy, decency and honesty.
 
How do you know he will not send it. Ive seen real lag on stuff like this before. Really bites if he does not send it. Cost a lot to buy a new one, If a new one cannot be bought, trashes the whole set.
 
I have to say I was surprised this thing turned the way it did. Transaction went well met us on time. Picked up the new take offs 2019 4RUNNER TRAIL TRD wheels and tires with wheel lugs with locking lugs and the TPMS sensors. Tires had less then 100 miles on them. You can tell if you know what to look for. Everything as described except for the missing center cap. Good price and texted me a picture of the cap. Everything on the up and up. I didn't dicker with the price I felt it was fair. I considered holding back a little for the missing cap but I choose to roll the dice.

6 days after the transaction I contacted him to see if it had been sent he had a laundry list of BS. There is only about 200 miles between us. If he sends it through USPS couples days but you have to send it right!

12 days later I contacted him a little P'ed OFF. Told him if he wasn't going to send it to Man up and say so. Then I ordered one for 30 bucks. I shouldn't had to but that's the way it went.

Money isn't the issue. If the whole situation was reversed it would have drive me nuts till I sent the cap. Guess it was how I was raised your word is your bond.

Even with the B CRAP it was a decent deal. The whole deal was less than a full set of Michelin LTX A/T2 and the gas it cost to get them. But not the point of this thread. Sometimes I just don't understand people today!

I actually have a few of the caps around for the 2019 OR wheel. Would send ya one (just pay shipping) but looks like you already ordered one
 
I too was screwed over by a forum seller (see my thread in seller feedback). The board admin don’t do shit about it. Banning the account (IP would be even better) until the situation is rectified would be at least something.

You sound like the kind of person who will be unhappy and complain about EVERY forum seller.
How many fricking times do you need to contact a seller, really. Emails and texts, multiple of each, you sound like a male version of “I need to speak to the manager.”
 
Sorry it happen but OP, this was all your responsibility. This was a simple business transaction – nothing more, nothing less and you paid in full before the goods were received. What you should have done was withheld the $ 30 until the cap was received.

And about condemning ‘people today’ or even America, my grandmother always told me to Look At The Many, Not the One because the one doesn’t and can’t define the many. For every one that does bad there are the many there to do good in response. An extreme example is a mass shooting where the one does evil but the many run in to help.

Worse case here is that you were ripped off for a $ 30 cap. Sucks for sure. But certainly nowhere sucks enough for such a general all-inclusive condemnation. And if wasn't a forum member, why do we even all now know about it?

Venting is certainly allowed, but you might have to take some crap about it.

"People today" comments happen to be a "pet peeve" annoyance of mine. People have been ripping people off for millennia. People talk about a lack of accountability "these days" but here we are telling the whole Internet about it and complaining that the site admins don't do anything about it (why it's their responsibility is quite beyond me, but I digress). In days of old con-men would drift from town to town ripping people off and nobody would know except for their neighbors and perhaps the cops in neighboring towns.

And while we're talking about rip-offs, don't even get me started about dealership maintenance service "packages".....
