Sound Deadening Question

If price isn't an option I would go with SecondSkin. They have great products.

I've seen a cup like thing that you mount the speaker in that is supposed to seal it up, but I can't remember what it was called. I would deaded as much of the inside of the door panel as possible and also the outside.

You don't deaden inside the subwoofer enclosure.

Where are you experiencing rattling?

What kind of speakers and subwoofers are you running?

Are you deadening the floor?

I have not built the sub enclosure yet. I was just wondering if I should be putting something in there to prevent reflections. I will be changing to 6.5 components up front

I will more than likely do the whole car with maybe the exception of the roof.

Oh ok.

Doing the whole car will be expensive, but it should make it sound better.

If money is an issue I would at least do the doors and the tailgate.

What kind of subs are you installing?

LOL I guess I will probably do whatever I can afford. :D

Not sure on the brand of sub yet. Im going to do a 10" in the same spot the JBL would go. So ill probably want to deaden that part of the car as well.

If your just doing one 10" you probably don't need to deaden the floor or roof.

I would do the front door and the tailgate. The backdoors too, but only if you are putting new speakers back there.

Check this guy out. He's probably one of the nicest people ever. He will email you back promptly about any question you have. on the site also is this http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/ which matches up several of the top sound deadeners and will tell you basically everything you need to know.

Good call! Same site I always refer people to when they ask them this question. I believe it helps them make a more informed decision rather than trying to explain it all.

That is a good link. The only problem is that that test was done almost three years ago. It still covers the main points, but some of the products might have changed.

Just putting in my 2 cents..... I use Dynamat Extreme. I know it's a little on the pricey side, but it hasn't let me down yet. Whatever you choose, enjoy putting it in:). Doesn't take long before you can't wait to be done, just make sure you don't get in a hurry and rush it. If you're gonna do it you might as well do it right.
Weather permitting I will be putting more into mine. Anybody want to help? pleeeaaase
