I've been researching the same thing. I realize you get what you pay for but the price for dynomat is outrageous. I've seen some forums discuss a roofing application you can buy online or from Lowe's called "Peel & Seal" that is similar. Some say it does a similar job to dynomat, but I haven't had the balls to give it a go.
Does anyone have any input on this product or one's like it.

Your exactly right, you get what you pay for. If you put down that Peal and Seal stuff it will definitely not work as well and might come off after a hot summer.
Look into RAAMAT.

ebay is ur friend, i paid 300 for dynamat mega bulk pack. covered all my doors all 4 inside and outer layer, trunk floor, and tailgate inside and outer layer. worth every penny i saved for it.

I have been researching this for a few weeks. The Peel and Seal is probably ok for your floorboards and rear cargo area, but some people say it isn't really a great product for the doors b/c they are having to hang there.
With that said, I have yet to see anyone claim without a doubt that it melted in their car...some people even in Arizona and Florida where it gets 140 degrees inside your car said they had no problems with it.
I am going to do the Peal and Seal for the floor boards and cargo area maybe this weekend. There are tons of people online saying it worked great. Probably all in how you apply it and where you live.
A guy in this thread mentions some problems with Peal and Seal and RAAMAT, but another guy says he didn't have problems with RAAMAT.

Oh I ordered some speakers from Crutchfield, and every set over 150 I got a door kit with it. Basically a 10x10 sheet of dynomat for each door. So that's all I've gotten.

FWIW - Peel n Seal does a fine job. That is, it quickly and easily adds mass to otherwise light and vibration-prone metal panels. I've done several installations with this stuff, and it sticks very well. In fact, it can be very difficult to remove. Installation is all in the prep work. If you have a clean and dry surface, and take your time pressing the PnS on the surface, it'll stay put.
I'm currently working on deadening my front doors, so I'll put up some photos soon. I'll be adding RAAMat ensolite foam as well.
