I just moved to California and I need to get some warranty work done in my 2004 4x4 Sport.

Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with Toyota dealerships around San Bernardino, Riverside, Redlands, Ontario, Corona.... (or any toyota dealership around these areas)

Thanks

Warranty Work

Hi,

I bought my 03 Spt Ed 4X4 V8 at Claremont Toyota. They do pretty good work, no problems yet. I heard that Longo Toyota is pretty good too. Good Luck.

Longo sucks in my experience. I'll never go there again and waste my time.

i have one

I purchased my first $runner from Wonderies Toyota in Alhambra. I had it serviced there for almost all of the 13 yrs. They where always good and i never had any problems.

i second that. i bought my truck from them about a month ago and off the lot, the rear turn signals were broken. long story short, it took them two days to fix a broken fuse. they had to drive me to work and then lend me a car because they left my headlights on when returning the car to me which killed the battery.

there parts department isn't any better. bottomline, i won't be going back there again.

btw, i love my new truck
:D

oh yea, a friend of mines got her camry serviced at puente hills toyota. they decided to charge her extra for something she didnt need or ask for. this is not an isolated incident as it happend to my uncles co-worker too. needless to say, i wont be going there either.

hopefully someone will recommend a place that is reputable.

yes

You are very right, i think Longo Blows Chunks. When i was looking for my Black Sport, i called them and also a few others. They said to come on down that they had a black sport x4x for me. I drove al the way down there (which was a 2+ hr drive) and they didn't have it, they lied and pulled a bait and switch to get me there. Like i am stupid enough to go ahead and buy from then after that.

Wonderies

I am telling you, 13 years i drove from Bakersfield to Alhambra just to have my 4runner serviced by Wonderies. They have some very good techs there. there is this one asian guy who really rocks. I think his name was kim, or something like that. In 13 yrs i was never unhappy.

Funny how this subject comes up today.

A couple of months back I took my 99 4runner in for its oil change at Toyota of Orange. Well, they tried getting me to replace my timing belt since I was over 60,000 miles on my truck. They said they could give me a "deal" and replace it for $300. Obviously I said no.

Well, I took my 4runner to have its brakes replaced today from a mechaninc I know. I asked him about the timing belt.

He looked up my engine and told me my 4runner doesn't even have a timing belt, but instead has a timing chain (I have the smaller 4 cyl. engine). He said those things last forever and that I wouldn't have to replace it for a long time.

The guys who sold me my 4runner at Toyota of Orange were really cool. But I guess the service department guys might be shady.

I don't really like dealerships in general.

I've had really good experience with Longo over the years, but we've always gone back to the same sales and service guys, so maybe that's the difference.

Have been going to Power Toyota in Irvine since we moved, and not too happy with them. Customer service in sales wasn't all that great and the service department left me feeling they're a little shady.

I'm sure every dealership has good and bad employees, maybe we should pay more attention to the individuals who provide us with good service and not necessarily the dealership as a whole.

I'm sure this has been covered before but anyways...

I bought my 04 two months ago. I surfed the net for nearly two months looking for what I wanted in the 4Runner. I dealt a lot with Power at first, but the seemed really unreliable getting back to me.

My friend who is a long time resident of LA was looking for a new Toyota too and suggested we go together to Longo. We got caught up in my deal and ignored his. I was very happy with the sales procedures at Longo. It took quite a while to get the car on the lot all spruced up on the day for me to drive away, but they seemed well organised and friendly (remember this is sales after all).

When I got home I noticed a plastic cap was missing from the shift lock so I gave them a call a week later when I was back in Hong Kong and told them I was missing the part. A service guy actually delivered it to my wife in Malibu!

From my experience so far, Longo has been good and I think is the biggest dealership in LA so I guess they see a lot of vehicles.

Just my 2cents.

Cheers
Mark
