spacer lift/shock question

I have the Toytec 3" spacer lift kit that comes with the rear Toytec coils to give 3" up front and 2" in the back yet to be installed. I know it is designed to be used with stock shocks OR can be used with aftermarket. My question is should I replace the shocks with aftermarket? Its a 2WD so im obviously not doing any crazy offroad antics. I was told that if I wanted more travel I should swap out shocks but that is not a huge concern for me. I dont hate the handling now, Ive gotten used to it over the last 20K, but Ive read so many times on here how awesome aftermarket shocks are compared to whats factory installed. Im just looking for some advice/knowledge on pros/cons of upgrading and what the general concensus is on this topic. AND if people think I should upgrade then what should I use? Something thats a happy medium cost wise between whats on there now and what I know shocks can cost sometimes. Thanks everyone.

if you get bilstein 5100 and set it to 2.5 front and put on just the top plate spacer from your kit.. you'll have a even 3/2 lift with shocks that actually help your handling.. the 5100 rears will work well with the toytec coils.. you get a lift and you improve handling..

especially if you're paying someone to install and even remotely think you may want to add shocks later.. do it now to avoid 2 install and 2 alignments

I'm no expert; but from what I've read Bilstein 5100's would benefit you because they are designed for lifted suspensions. I believe the dampening and length is better suited to suspensions with a lift. You would probably be best-off removing your front spacer and using the adjustable collars on the fronts for your lift, and spacers in the back. 5100's really don't cost much more than non height-adjustable shocks.

However, there are plenty of people running spacer lifts on stock shocks. You might want to post this same question on the suspension forum for more responses.
