Spacers that don't require compressing springs

I'd like to get a 2.5/1.5 or 3/2 lift/level kit on my 2011 Limited, but I don't want to pay someone to do it and I don't want to compress the springs myself. It seems like the Daystar 2.5/1.5 has an 'easy install' variant that allows you to extend the top bolts rather than compress the spring and replace them. Does anyone know if A) this is true, and B) if this is safe for the vehicle?

I found some instructions for Daystar's FJ install kit here: http://www.daystarweb.com/attachments/instructions/kt/p11131.pdf that seem to indicate you don't need to compress any springs to install the lift. I'm not looking to improve my ride, but increase ground clearance and make room for 285/55/20 tires. If I could increase my ride, great, but I'm happy with it, and would rather not let anyone work on my vehicle.

Are there any other lift/level kits that can be done without compressing the coilovers or disconnecting the XREAS suspension?

And last question, do you need to do a front differential drop if you do a 2.5" or 3" front lift or can I drive 150k miles without it?

did the easy install about 6 months ago on a limited (xreas). Straight forward install, I would recommend a few things; 14mm ratcheting box end wrench, extra loc-tite, length of 2x3(for pry bar) bucket /box(to support the strut while you install the stud extenders). most importantly, an appointment for an alignment, somewhere close by is preferable as mine was WAY off after the install.

Did the alignment change more after things settled, or was there not much settling with polyurethane spacers?

compressing the springs is really quite easy. pretty sure you can borrow the spring compressors from Napa for nothing and have it done in a few hours.

personally I wouldn't want to mess around with "stud extenders", but to each his own.

good luck!

i believe truxxx lift also mounts outside the coilover. Nice because it keeps stock 'feel' and their spacers also adjust the angle of the studs slightly to compensate for the added height

According to a few other threads I've seen here, the Truxx rear spacers are not compatible with the 5th gen and have to be modified to fit. I think I have to consider it out of my league.
