Spacers Vs OME??

I have a 03 v8 sr5 i want to put 3" of lift on. Has anyone had spacers and then gone to OME? i am curious of the ride difference.

Well I cannot speak on the OME lift or even the 3" aspect of it but I did install the fj springs, shocks and the 1" spacer and rear airlift 1000. I suppose the 1st question would be what sort of $$$ are you willing to spend? Are you doing the lift yourself or having a shop do it. The lift itself is pretty easy to do if you have the right basic tools and a nice flat spot to do it in. Only takes about 4 hours to do the entire truck.

I too have been looking into getting more of a lift but not sure just yet which set up to get.

I was going to do it with help from a friend who is a mech. I dont do much offroading so i am going for the look, but i dont want it to ride like crap. so ill spend the money on the OME spring kit if the spacer kit is a bad ride.

Do the spacer kit, it will have the exact same ride as stock. I have spacers on my 06.

Most spacers maintain the factory ride. There are many coils available from soft to very stiff. Agiing like 810moto said, if your only going for looks, how much do you wanna spend? I got my daystar for $150 i think and put it on myself and i have xreas. Spacer lift is a breeeze. I think coilovers would be the easiest to install and coils are manageble. More info on this site tahtn you could imagine. Look at pics ans signatures for mod lists and you should be able to make a good decision.

well i can get the 3" spacer lift from toytec for $200, the OME spring 3" lift is $400, id much rather spend 200 than 400

I have the 3" Cornfed spacers on my 06 and the 3" RevTek spacers on my 03. Both ride the same as stock, and they were cheap. The 06 is a 2WD and the little lift is for looks only, similar to what you are looking to achieve, I think. I would totally recommend the spacers (any of the brands). The 03 is more of a trail truck (it's a 4WD), and I am going to put coils on it. Again, my advice would be go with the spacers, but see what the general consensus is before you make a decision. OME rides much stiffer than stock. So if spacers ride like stock, id say go with spacers. I didnt like the car like stock ride so the stiffer ride doesnt bother me, but it sounds like it might bother you so id say spacers.

Yes, I did. Revtech spacer to OME. Replaced the rear spring 1st so had half and half for 2 years. OME will give you more lift up front feels a little over sprung sp? But you can bash the front end now. No more nose dive when you mash the breaks - no nose dive. A little roll I bet you could run without the swaybar?? Back is harsh unloaded (HD springs) but worth it when I have it loaded with 500 + lb's of motorbike and gear. Unless you haul or tow stick with the softer rear springs. Amount of lift and HD rear spring were my deciding factors.
