Spare tire crank handle question

My 4Runner didn't come with any of the tools to remove the spare or change a tire (lug wrench, jack or jack/spare tire crank). I'd just as soon use a more stable/sturdier jack and a 4-way lug wrench (since I often two) but I still need to remove the spare. Looking at the owners manual, it appears that the end of the crank "might" be a 3/8" square drive. Any possibility that's correct? If not, is there any chance something reasonably easy to find will work?

I just searched on eBay and I couldn't find hardly any tools and I doubt I'll find just the jack handle. Haven't tired a wrecker yet but I'm suspecting it would be hard to buy just the crank handle.

Except the hole that the crank rod passes through is a bit too big to pass the socket extension joint (the thick part) through; at least on mine anyway. Can anyone verify that slightly enlarging the holes will be fine? I just don't want to get a socket extension stuck in there.
