Spare tire down below size

Hey, I want to place a spare back in the stock location under the tailgate. What size fits there? I have a 90 4 runner, with 31's on it but just want a cheap spare for emergencies that doesn't block the back tailgate. Currently the spare is in my cargo bed. No good! Also, underneath, the factory winch is shot. Anybody have ideas for replacing it? But what size fits first...

I think you can fit a 33 there, but to be sure, get a tape measure, get under your truck, and measure the distance between the frame rails.

As for the winch, you can usually free them up after soaking it in penetrating oil (not WD40, the real stuff) a few days and working with it.

My 92 came stock with 235's,, but I put 31x 10.50's on.. bought a 31 x 10.50 spare,, fits underneath with no problem

Trailer hitch interference

Hey, you guys...
My trailer hit seems to be eating up about 4" behind the bumper. Do you guys have trailer hitches that fit the tires underneath?

As an addendum: I 'did' have to get a local welder to move my hitch back further under the bumper about 2 inches in order to let the 31 x 10,50's clear. He torched the hitch off at the ends and shortened it by about one-half inch on each end. Then he welded some flat steel onto the part of the hitch that was still attached to the frame. These two 'flats' lengthened the hitch attachment point. Finally, he welded the shortened hitch back into place. The actual receiver part of the hitch now sticks out past the rear bumper by about 2 inches. Doesn't look too bad. I can post pix , if you like.

My 93 came with factory 31X10.5 spare under it, but did not come with a factory hitch. I no longer carry the spare under it( for more clearence) and I am going to remove the spare tire carrier.
