I just wanted to share my experience with upgrading my RIM to an alloy rim similar to my other 4 rims. At first, i thought of just using an alloy rim and not the tpms and i did that and relearned the tpms. a day or 2 of driving, the tpms light showed up again and though, looks like the tpms system on 2020 4runner monitors where the tires are and which tpms is located. cleared it a few times hoping to fix it and the error shows up every time.
So if you are planning on upgrading your rim to alloy, make sure to include a tpms too. i did the upgrade since i wanted to rotate my spare as well.
also, i found this TPMS sensor that worked and bought it at $21.
