2019 ORP spare tire tpms activation

Hi folks, I recently added a denso T3 tpms sensor to my full size spare, sold by tirerack as oem. Shop couldn't get the vehicle to register more than 4 sensors with their tool, and gave up suggesting the dealership. Local toyota wants $210 to do a relearn, more if they need to "get the frequency" from the sensor which requires unmounting (wtf?). Instead I purchased Autel TS508WF to try myself. Has anyone actually been able to register 5 sensors with anything other than the limited trim?

Done it on a 2014 SR5 and did nothing other than install the Denso TPMS sender. Will let you know on the 2023 ORP when we were out the OEM tires in about 10K miles.

I think you need techstream to allow the car's computer to see the 5th sensor. otherwise the trims without the 5th sensor would be expecting to see a 5th sensor and throw a code when it doesn't see it. Once you do that you should be able to DIY with the autel tool assuming the sensor frequencies match

Just wondering, if you do install a 5th tire sensor- will it be shown on the dash?
I have a 2020 TRD ORP and would like to put one in my spare.
