ok. on my 01 4runner... has got a jvc HU (which was in there when i got it probly change it out but not now) and stock all around. Ive got the infinity basslink im about to put in.
i was thinking of putting infinitiy references 2ways upfront.

think this would sound pretty good????

crutchfield says the inf ref. 6012i 6 1/2 2ways will fit w/ no adapter . True?
they have the same model 6012si which is not as deep as the other but same speaker.

but if the first one i said will fit w/out adapters i'll go with that probably. didnt know if they were too deep...according to crutchfield there not.
anyways... just looking 4 some opinions.

For the record I just installed the Infinity 6010 components up front a week or so ago, and I love them. I also installed the Basslink at the same time. Not sure this endorsment helps much, but I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I wouldn't really trust Crutchfield's "matching" system. It really comes up with squat, and a lot of the time they're wrong. I have the Kappa Perfect's up front, which they said wouldn't fit, and they work fine, only had to bend a little tab of sheet metal out of the way. I ordered some moldings for the rear doors to make 5 1/2s fit as well.

The good thing about Crutchfield is that they're good about returning stuff if you're not happy with it, so if you have a real hard time fitting them in, you can just say you're unhappy with the performance and sent them back. I have Infinity all around, and for a mainstream speaker, they sound fantastic.

I also had the reference series in my old '97 runner and I was very happy with them. I don't think you will be disapointed. Of course there are nicer speakers out there for a lot more money but for bang for your buck it's hard to beat the Infinity Reference series...
