Specific Retrofit Questions

I am ready to begin stocking up on all of the necessary parts for a retrofit. My plan for these headlights is a little different from what others have done, so I have a few specific questions...

Like many others, the backbone of my retro is going to be the Bi-xenon Morimoto Mini Stage III H1 from TRS. I intend on deleting my halogen hi-beams to make room for some other goodies :. Is it possible to utilize the dual-beam functionality of the bi-xenons despite the fact that our trucks are set up for 2 isolated single-beam bulbs (per headlight)? If so, what harness and/or wiring trickery will be necessary to make it work? Here's a picture of my part selections so far:

Also, what is the diameter of the outermost rim of the hi-beam bucket? I don't have an OEM pair of headlights yet, so I can't measure for myself. :shrug:

You can use the bi-xenon function on the projector even though our trucks have high beams. You would need to wire the bi-xenon solenoid to the factory harness on the truck or maybe you can make a small plug and play kit for this. If you contact TRS they can assist you in this.

You need the 9005 splitters, I think it falls another menu for harnesses. Good luck with the retrofit, I was thinking of doing something a lil extreme, like rx350 in the highs, once you start, you'll find that you will want something better than the h1 and you'll end up cutting a big hole for a better projector.

Alright, thanks! I believe I found the splitter you are talking about. Once I get the hang of this retrofitting, I'll probably end up doing something a little more high-end.

Yeah, the eBay Halos are really starting to crap out on me. I'll try my best to document my progress as long as I don't get too consumed with the project itself. There's a first time for everything, eh? :cheers:

Call me crazy, but I only see the guy asking for measurements. I can't find a post with the measurements. But, then again, I may need my eyes checked.:shrug:
