speed O fix with bigger tires and lift

Ok I was looking to buy just shocks but after looking at the springs it looks like I also need springs so I am looking at a 3" lift with shocks from toytec lifts. My question is once you put on bigger tires how hard is it to fix the speed O to read the correct speed. Any help will be helpful. Thanks

Hey thanks. I am looking at the toytec 3" which would allow a 32x11.50 Looks like it will only be about 2 to 3 mph off at most. Does anyone else have this lift? I will be driving 95% on road and the other 5% will be very light off road. Any hints on either 890 or the 891 OEM springs. Thanks for your input and help

im currently running the OME lift, 890 rears, spacers up front :(.
currently rolling n 285-75-16(33"s). just add 10% to your displayed speed, its pretty simple. i actually find myself adding numbers in my work truck, its pretty funny.

so, if it says 30, youre going 33. if it says 70, youre going 77.

I have 265/75r16's and mine is actually right on now. It reads perfect according to my gps. I guess it was a little off with the stock tire size.

The speed differential increases the faster you go but under 50mph the speedo still should read pretty accurate but even 70mph my speedo with 265/75s it's only off by a few miles per hour so even with 33" tires it probably won't even be off by 5mph.

891s are stiff stiff stiff

I had 891s for a year in the rear.

I loved em when I was loaded down with 400-500 lbs in the back end, but for normal drving around town use they were not the best choice.

The 890s are a good all around spring that in my mind allows the shocks to do their fair share of the work.

Unless you run heavily loaded in the back end routinely I would recommend the 890s over the 891s.

Ok so why the sad face about the spacers up front? Also what shock package are you using?

well, by adding the spacers i leterally reduced my travel by 2.5 inches( .5 spacer). so there is that.
its even worse offroad, i went wheeling with some guys that have coilovers and we hit some whoops. theyre were on my ass the whole time.

still havent bought shocks yet, so thats my bad too.

i am currrently running 305/70/16 with a 3 inch OME lift and my speed O is right bang on the money.......weird ehh

It looks like in your pic that you are running stock wheels? Are you using spacers or are you using different wheels? What are the rest of you using with your lifts? I was all ready to get a 3" lift until I heard that I also had to get new wheels if I wanted to use bigger tires because of the back spacing. Now I'm all jacked up so if some of you guys that have already done this can put me on the right track. Thanks

yeah i got lucky and a member on anther site had them cheap. i also got the tires for a killer deal so i had them installed on stock. i love the 5 stars but they dont fit so well. you will rub n the pinch weld behind the wheel well plastic, and on the frame at full wheel turn.

so wheels would be the best option since, you will rub in several places. i wouldnt recommend wheel spacers because they put your wheel bearings under excessive stress.

i would do it right because everytime i add something, something else needs to be done.

take your time, and do it the way you want it to end up. it will be cheaper in the long run and less over all work.

can you explain how a wheel spacer puts different stress on a wheel bearing than a rim w/ the same off set?

the way i see it the entire wheel is being pushed out further with spacers. With just the offset different there is more of the actually wheel inside, taking more weight of the vehicle.

but i could be wrong, maybe thats backspacing.
