Speed sensitive radio?

Does the stock (non JBL 6 speaker) system have a speed sensitive radio? I feel like the volume decreases when I exit the freeway/stop at the end of the ramp. Am I just imagining things. I didn't think it had it, but was just wondering.

It does have that feature, at least on the 2006 model. I've forgotten the acronym but it's configurable to either 'low', 'med' or 'high' or 'off' (at least I think you can turn it off).

The 2006 has this feature...........awww man! I believe it is called something like "DSS" or "DSF" dynamic sound feature. This is a very good feature. I've rented vehicles with this feature and loved it. Unfortunately, the 2004 Scion unit does NOT offer this feature.....I wished it did.

Perhaps someone could chime in and tell the peeps here if this feature comes on the Scion 2006 head unit with the center knob.

Any idea if the 2006 6-Disc JBL Synthesis head unit has this?? I just bought one off of e-bay to replace my 2005 JBL unit (I wanted the MP3 features). I would assume that a seperate wire would be needed for this ---- possibly the same wire used for the speed on the NAv units?

You can turn the ASL on or off by using the same knob you use to set the bass, treble, etc. Just keep cycling through all of the selections. My mom's RX400 and my dads new 4Runner has that feature and it is great. It adjusts the sound level according to your speed.

UoD, when I test drove a 2006 Limited with the JBL 6 disc radio, I think I remember seeing that feature when playing with the radio. I remember being impressed because I originally thought it was only available on radios that came in Lexus.

Is this feature accessible on the '05's with the JBL system? I haven't found it yet.

I have the JBL system with nav and it is doesn't have the feature.

05 JBL 6-Dsc Synthesis does not have this feature ....

I just installed an 06 JBL 6-Disc Synth ---- and I was unable to find this feature in the menus. There is something called an "RSC LOCK" (or something like that) that has a setting of "on" or "off".... not sure what this is ..... anyone know?

When I put the 06 disc in my 05 ... I didn't see any place to connect a seperate speed control wire. I assume that since my 05 didn't have the speed control feature that I would have to connect some other wire to get this to work in my 06.

I always thought this would be a great feature to have but after a few days of constantly adjusting the volume, I decided that to turn it off completely. I guess it's just a matter of what you get used to.
