Just need to vent for a second after my T4R inspection and emissions at Spitzer Toyota here in the Burgh'.
After making sure all the inspection points were up to par before heading in (new pads/ rotors, shocks and Dobinsons, all lights working etc..) I dropped it off. 2.2 hrs later she tells me I have a drivers brake light out and its 40$. My wife and I checked them in the am but I guess its a bulb and they can go at anytime.
I tell her its odd but OK and I'll pop a new one in as I have some in my armrest. She says if I leave and come back that I'll have to pay the whole 87$ in full once again or have them put in the bulb for 40$....... Uhhhh, Whut?
Trapped.....Either pay 40$...or come back and pay 87$ That's not how its been done forever.....
The standard is to allow you to return in 7 or so days, allowing the customer to repair the fault themselves or be able to shop around to better suit their budget.
I walk out and before I leave I check the faulty bulb and surprise it works just fine. I even pull it and both filaments are intact and not being intermittent. I leave for my kids appt and return afterwards to tell them and she says well the tech said it was out and their policy stands and that I must not have any clue what I'm looking at. Right, now we are getting on a great path. Out the door I go to NTB just 5 minutes away and pay for the inspection without any faults and it was done in 35 minutes.
Toyota got a long email from me that day as I knew going back was futile dealing with this twat.
What a Shitshow
