Spoiler for 05 and 06 4runner?

I was wondering if anyone can confirm something regarding the spoilers. I am thinking of adding one to my 4runner but have a quick question. I replaced my taillights with the 06 LED ones and would prefer to have the spoiler with LEDs too. I believe the 06 spoilers come with LED brake lights on it but do the 05 spoiler come with LEDs also or are they just regular bulbs.

my 04 has leds on it. I think as long as it is added on it is an led version, it was a port installed option. the ones with the bulbs only come from the factory i think.

I believe my 04 has LEDs too, if they aren't you can't tell the difference. I have LED tails too, and the spoiler lights up just as bright and also has that instant on look. So that's why I'm thinking it already has LEDs.

easy way totell is if the light is on the bottom edge of the spoiler then it is leds, if it is centered on the spoiler then it is a bulb.

Nope, mine are indeed LEDs. The whole spoiler bar lights up uniformly (and brightly) when I hit the brake pedal. Even the dealer confirmed they were LEDs inside (not that they're words are gold either). No fading on or off when activated like an incandescent bulb, they instantly come on.

If you purchase the aftermarket spoiler from Spoilerdepot.com; then it will have the LED light bar. If you want the hump in your spoiler......then order the 05 or 06 spoiler. If you want your new 2006 to look different and like the earlier spoiler editions 03-05; then order for one of these years. The spoiler will still fit perfectly as Toyota has NOT changed the rear spoiler area of this vehicle since 2003. They are all the same!

BTW, I purchased my spoiler from the spoilerdepot.com back in May 2004 for about $245 painted to Toyota's factory specs. I believe you can get them for around $125-$150 nowadays painted to factory color specs. The mounting was easy as I done it in my driveway one sunday morning by myself with the help of a step stool. The instructions are upfront and easy! Be advised.....you will NEED to DRILL 5 or 6 holes into you 4Runner. Don't be skarred.........just do it!! The results will be self awarding

hmm your right, not that i thought you were wrong, but from looking at alexjet's pic, it looks like those are leds, i thought the ones that were centered were bulbs. maybe there are two kinds or something. anyways everyone can now ignore my previous statement, and this is just one more time that i have been shown to be a dumbass.

Thanks everyone. I guess they all come with LEDs, which is what I wanted. I keep hearing everyone talk about the "hump" spoiler. Are you guys referring to the stock spoiler? I was going to get the stock spoiler because of the quality. Any input?

As word has it, the "hump" spoilers deflect air downwards towards the hatch. Whether intentionally designed as thus or not, I do notice this effect. When I am on the freeway and it is raining, the effect is visible. I rarely have to use my rear wiper since the blast of air directed by the spoiler forces an airstream down the rear window. It's been pouring in the SF bay area lately and despite heavy rains I do not really need to use my wiper. I turn the rear wiper on just to make sure it works or just for the hell of it.

I heard that either people either love the look or hate it. I for one like it, and it's functional (I suppose). Hell, I didn't have a choice anyway when I picked up my runner; it was factory installed already. So I guess it is stock (to me anyways). The quality and the fitment is pretty solid, just a little flex when I wax or wash it since it is afterall plastic. The LED brake light is a cool bonus. I didn't notice this until a month later when I was backing out in a parking lot and saw the brake light's reflection in a store window. I was like, "...woohoo!! I have LEDs for my brake light?! Cool!..." I guess the only down side is waxing the inside face of the spoiler. It gets kinda tight between the spoiler and near the upper part of the rear window.

Okay, I just recently got around to going to the dealer to inquire about the spoiler. And guess what... they want $900 for it (parts and labor). Personally, that seems ridiculous. Unfortunately, I'm the type to pay more for quality.

Hence, here's my question. I've been looking on eBay or other sites such as SpoilerDepot. They all seem to claim that they are just as good as the OEM and I don't know whether to trust them or not. I've seen spoilers warp or crack with heat and I just don't want anything like that to happen. I would think that something like a spoiler would last for 10+ years. Just looking for opinions. If I find that the quality is not up to par with the OEM spoilers, I'm willing to fork over $900 to the dealership but would hate to do so if I could have gotten the same quality elsewhere for half the price.

Also, I'm not sure if anyone was able to verify but is the stock 03-04 "non-hump" spoiler come with LEDs also? I know the SpoilerDepot one comes with LEDs but was curious about the stock one.
