Sport Edition Tube Steps on SR5

I have an 03 with the steps and an 08 with the tubes.
The tubes looks cool with the tube roof rack, but when youre driving thru puddles or rainy weather,...well, imagine the sound it would make if you were to take a hose spraying a full, fast stream of water at a metal tube. That hollow-metal sound...well, i hear it. Not to mention all the debris that hits the lower edges of the rockerpanels. Granted Toyota put some clear-protective film in the regions where debris would kick up, but in truth, im impartial.
There are no signs of rusting on the tubes, except for the small screws that hold on the plastic-step-area "put-your-foot-here" panels on. I replaced those.
When i step out of my 08, i have to over-extend my legs so my pants dont rub/touch the tubes, so no mud/water/crap gets on my pants.
The steps have never given me any problems.

Thanks for the advice. One more thing Im thinking of also replacing the racks on the roof. It might look funny if I don't replace those for the tubular ones. But, I would like to leave them on if the cost versus looks dont add up. Have you guys replaced your roof racks when you replaced the tube steps?

Ask and ye shall receive. Here is a finished product (for the time being) that you are contemplating -- My 2009 SR5 with OEM SE tube steps and the matching tubular roof rack, a 1" lift in front, side exhaust mod, and 2011 OEM TE Toyota wheels.

I put tubes off an 07 on mine and like the look over the stock running boards. It took all of 15 minutes to install. It was harder to find then to put on 
I actually like that they are installed closer to the car and do not stick out much. But, I did enjoy the comforts of a larger step while washing the car (I still "walk" the tubes, but I must be careful not too slip). BTW - I have not changed out my rack and not sure that I'm going too. (Lastly, I got my tubes for $100 and sold my boards for $50; otherwise, I probably would not have done it).

I don't know if they are available thru Toyota. I bought mine from someone here on T4R.org. Some guys change them out for sliders. It took me a while to find some, but my patience paid off, and I did.
Re the matching SE roof rack, I bought that brand new from a Toyota dealer on ebay. Cost delivered to my door, just over $200. There were several Yoda dealers selling the sport roof rack on ebay a few weeks back when I bought mine.

Can anyone tell me if you need the OEM bolts to install these tube steps . This is whats going on: I bought a set of SE tube steps a few years ago and never installed them. I just got the actual steps with no hardware. I put away the hardware from the original running boards when I removed them and now I cant find them. Been away from the forum for a few years so I am kind of lost now. I would appreciate iany help and advice.

These are the bolts that work with the SR5 steps, you will need six of each:
BOLT(FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CASE PROTECTOR); BOLT(FOR MANUAL made by Toyota. #9008010083
BOLT, W/WASHER made by Toyota. #91641C0614

Thanks for the input. Do the regular running boards and Sport Edition tube steps use the same hardware?... I want to install the Sport Edition tube steps.
