Sport Edition Tube Steps

Anyone have any idea how to get the same tube steps that are stock on >2005 Sport Editions on to my 04. Can seem to find the manufacturer and Toyota won't sell them to me.

you must be able to order them from Toyota as spare parts. They probably wouldn't try to install them for you since they weren't made for your model but certainly if they are still in production, they would sell them as parts.

i'm sure a lot of guys around here would attest though, that perhaps there are much better aftermarket tube steps out there.
 
Theres a few members here who seem to like their rigs Tubeless. I'm sure they'll be willing to sell you their set. Just search around.
 
I took mine off , looks good either way to me . My truck is leased is I can't sell them and may put them back on if I lift it .

I can't see why Toyota ( local dealer ) would not sell them to you . What the hell do they care as long as they get their money .

it CAN lead to lawsuit. blah blah blah this dealership sold it to me and i broke my foot when i stepped on it...

therefore, toyota won't sell you the part if you say your 4runner is not sport edition... but there are ways around it.
 
You can always just tell them you have a sport edition, and install it yourself. It only takes 12 bolts to get it mounted.

Interesting , I forgot we live in the world of lawsuits for everything. Sad but true.
 
It probably depends on the dealership also. I've read threads on here about dealerships not even asking for the VIN for getting a new key......
 
I have a pair of step tubes for the 4th gen they are off a 2008, i was about to list em on ebay and then i saw this thread. pm me with what you were willing to pay. thanks!

I have a set too. Great condition from a 2007 4runner Sport w/80k on em. Pm me with an offer. Not in a hurry, but willing to offload them for my future slider upgrade.
 
I wasn't in a hurry to get new running boards, but i damaged one of them off-roading in utah...i got a 2004 sr5, will the sport edition tube steps still fit?
