Sportrunner's Build and Idea thread...

I've finally decided to have a thread of my own here on T4R and what better than to have it be a "build"? Its in quotation marks because Im really slow at getting new parts and not very good at taking pictures when they come in, hopefully that will change! This whole thread is just my fun little build, My reason for doing some of the things is because I just plain want to haha

My 4Runner was and still is my only vehicle which I gratefully got from my parents after they bought a 2009 Land Cruiser. They bought the 4Runner new in 2001 so Ive been with the 4Runner for a long time you could say.

Now a picture to fill what you came here for:

This was around how she was when I got her. I took the running boards off and the bike rack has been on since about 2004.

Since I had this in high school and now college its easy to tell that I never had a very good camera. So bear with me on some of the first pictures...

-Its real maiden voyage off road. I basically got it stuck and wound up with a big dent in the rear hatch because of a tow rope with a hook on the end...

That brings us up to the point where I started making my own changes to it.

Now just a timeline of pictures taken from my photo bucket!

At the hunting cabin.

Brand new Duratracs, Its possible I won't get another DD/offroad tire after seeing these in the snow!

After rims and lift installed.

Out with the old and in with the new!

This was after out playing in a parking lot when we got a random 12" dump of snow this april!

Yes, I do have a two-tone 4Runner, not my choice but the auto body guy I had fix the rear door after hitting a light pole a few winters ago didn't do a very good job at painting that side. So Ive been thinking about a few different colors I may get it repainted someday...

That is pretty much up to speed, Im sure I forgot a few little things here and there but hopefully I will be able to do a lot more in the coming years! Enjoy!

Also If you have any questions feel free to ask or if you want pictures of something on the 4Runner just let me know and I'll be glad to help!

Well thanks for sharing. Now I gotta spend some more money... :)

Don't we all! haha:iagree:

Ive been tossing around the idea of a switched 12v outlet in the back with a gauge so I can watch the battery. It would work well to charge phones and things while camping and fishing. It'd be on a panel where I can mount more switches for rear lights to help set up duck decoys and possibly in the future.. an air compressor..

Also I've been looking at doing the satoshi but I can't get myself to spend 75 bucks on a new grill from ebay.

Also also, I found some good deals on the clarion NX603 head unit. Like over 50% off of a 1000 dollar HU.

thoughts?

so i recently hit a pheasant on the way to the hunting cabin and need new fog lights. Probably going to go with rigid d2's for a slim look so i can see the grill more.

--> Does anyone need a single IPF 968?? I have no use for just the one light and its sitting in my garage...

A little late in posting this but I got my CB all mounted up a while ago, antenna is mounted thanks to mstudt!

I also met Fun_Up_North and bought his old 891's. No more saggy butt! Just hoping to find a weekend before it gets too cold to install them and the new shocks and panhard drop I bought from toytec.

No we did not plan to have such similar 4Runners with the same rims, tires(32 vs 33 duratracs), color, and antenna mount. or similar roof racks.

Looks good! And lucky that's all the damage you got to your rear hatch. Lucky no one was around. That could have been bad.

And what's with the siren on your friends roof?

Thanks! And yeah it could have been way worse. And it's an old police siren that all hooked up and works. There's more pictures in one of his threads on here if you want to look him up and see more

No news, I was just bored today and went and took some more pictures.

Theres a new mod in the works that I know has never been done before, it involves a part from an AW11. It'll be a while until its done and ironed out, I'll post it then. No more hints. :hiding:

Well... I forgot I had a build thread until today lol

I had bought a rear window visor off of a MKI MR2 and had a great plan to paint it black and replace my spoiler with it and also leave a toyota logo clear so you could still see the 3rd brake light. ...And as it turned out, it fell off a shelf in the garage and broke, so there's that

Not much has gone on to the 4Runner but I have been stocking up parts to put on, replaced the tires with 285's, and put on a light bar along with new coverking ballistic seat covers.

Waiting to go on:
-Ditch light brackets and spot pattern rigid dually's
-Moromoto mini D2S squares
-rally armor UR flaps
-Rear lights
-Finally, wire all my accessories to the OTRATTW switches in the paranoid fab switch plate
