Spring Break in UTAH!!!

There's something for everyone - easy to extreme. I'm heading there on Monday with a friend. The only sure thing we'll run is Fins & Things and Hell's Revenge. After that we're going to do some trails we've never done before.

I'll try to remember to post some pics on my return.

What would you suggest that does not contain as much rock and boulder? After awhile I get tired of rock crawling! I would like to find some semi smooth trails that go off into some scenery I have never explored.

Shafer Road, Long Canyon, Gemini Bridges, and Bull Canyon come to mind.

What have you done?

How difficult were the trails out there for your rig?

I have an 07 with 3/1 5100's and Tacoma/FJ springs on 32's. We did Hells Revenge and Fins and Things right outside Moab last week.
Approach angles aren't such a big deal but departure is. I scraped the hitch several times and even caught the bumper on the bottom corners on both sides.
The trails were still a blast and slick rock is amazing. Pucker factor is high and it's very hard to see the lines when you're looking at the sky.
We will definitely be heading back in 2017 to do the White Rim Trail which by all accounts is much easier than the two trails I did. But the desolation and multi day remote camping s what I enjoy.
Don't forget your mountain bike, slick rock bike trail is a must ride and takes less than 2 hours if your family is waiting back at camp.

Given the. Choice between Moab and Ouray I'd choose Ouray - Colorado at it's best! Engineer Pass to Telluride, Imogene Pass back to Ouray is a great day!

My wife and I just spent a week there, love the area!

Don't do like we did- get started at 1130 and not look in the book until you are about 25 miles into it to see that it is 90 miles long. Haha. A little 4Runner Baja action and we pulled back into Moab at 930. Good time, but you miss a lot cause you're worried when you're going to jump the Runner again.

You did White Rim in 10 hours? I'm impressed, it's on my to-do list. I want to spend two days though I suspect I'll end up doing something like you did but not quite as fast.

I would like to go back and do it right next time, although it was quite the adventure doing it the way we did. Sam had one broken swaybar link and one bent one after we realised how long it was and started cruising. All of the stuff in the back of the 4Runner kept flying up in the air and I would see it in the rear view mirror. Lol. Passed a few guys that said we would never make it out of there that night. Ha. We were also going way over the five or ten mph that they said was the fastest you could go.
