So I just looked it up because these laws change all the time. Apparently bringing in out of state firewood is not allowed unless it is heat treated with a stamp saying so. Otherwise you should be good. My guess is though unless you have a way to prove you bought it within the state you may have issues with an out of state license plate. I'm still planning to grab a couple bundles locally before I head out tomorrow, but any additional wood will be helpful.

I highly recommend everyone who does not have a zero degree sleeping bag or hasn’t slept in these temperatures procure a mr buddy heater. The heaters use a significant amount of gas, our buddy xl goes through 20lbs of propane in 3-4 nights on the medium setting.

So, about the buddy heaters, is it safe to run one inside the car overnight? I have a nice but old 0 deg. bag and I'll also bring a 15 deg. bag as well in case. You've got me a little worried now however, and it sure would be nice to have the extra warmth.
Also, if anyone wants one Walmart also has them in-store for $69 like Amazon.

For reference my setup is 1 1/2" thermarest self inflating pad, 0 or 15 deg sleeping bag (bought in '88 from LL Bean) with a fleece sleeping bag liner (~15 bucks at Dick's) -- I've slept in my truck with this setup down to 30 and was super comfy.
On the winter trip (I think it was low 20's), I had 2 comforters in addition to what's listed and it was way too hot, I was a sweaty mess in the am,
I'm going to throw one comforter in this time just in case... YMMV.

As [MENTION=174597]gfxcruncher[/MENTION] said you should be fine inside your truck without a propane heater. If you get too cold you can start the truck and blast the heater.

One other thing, then I'll shut up (and PACK :bounce
I keep my seat behind the drivers seat unfolded and then in the am shimmy there while in the bag and fire up the truck and defroster (since you have to clear the condensation out anyways) then I can change clothes in a warm truck.

Thanks, I have tested my 0 degree bag down to the low 20s before without issue, but that was 10 years ago. I also went on a trip around New Years with the 15 degree bag (because I forgot the other one...) and was good down to the teens then. If it is terrible Thurs. night I'll stop at Walmart when we go to lunch Friday and grab a heater.

Although, our biggest commercial client is opening two new locations in the next 2 weeks and has us running all over the place just about every day.
Hopefully we can catch the next trip. Have fun and take TONS of pics!!

I've slept in the back in as low as 18 deg. in the snow with no problems.
Get a blanket or some of your clothes and stuff them around you in the sleeping bag - especially around your feet(old camping trick). You will be warm!
