Spring rate questions

Not that I’ve read about, or seen advertised. If you know of a place that offers that, I’d love to hear about it though.

I think you should give them a call, since you have to assenble these with parts from the existing shocks, I would think that they just send you the heavier springs for an "aditional cost" instead of the 600 lbs springs, but I could be wrong, I just don't see where they would sell many of these if you had to buy both sets of springs just to get the heavier springs, it just doesn't make good business sense!!

Thanks, that’s good to know. It will probably be a be spring before I do the fronts at this point, but good to know for when the time comes! I dropped about 3k into this thing in just the past couple of months, so if I don’t cool it for a bit, I’m going to be living in it when my wife kicks me out, lol.

Yep, adding the $170, means you are just buying the different ones at full cost, and they just keep your original 600s, which makes no sense. Iguess it wouldn’t matter though, since I can’t see that there would be much of a market for the takeoff 600s anyway. Even though I’d like the 6112s, once I add in the spring rate I would want, they really are too expensive to justify. At that point I may as well go for something higher end. I’ll probably just end up going 5100s since I can use my existing Tacoma springs, or maybe get some OMEs since I’m running the 2895e in the rear anyway.

6112s are $610 on Amazon. Add $170 and you are looking at a $780 coil set. That's a $100 less than toytec. Is the toytec setup better than the bilstein? Aside from better adjustability, I don't think so.

Since I’ve had both 5100s and 2.5 CoilOvers on the same car, I will chime in here (again!). Street ride is the same between the two. Tires play more of a factor on the road than anything else, as long as the suspension isn’t silly stiff or something weird. The bigger shocks feel more controlled off road, especially with a little speed. No harsh bottoming out, feels more stable. The bils are fine at slow speed stuff, but not enuf with a few more mph. The 2.5s are probably overkill for 98% of what I do, but they’re really good in that other 2%. And then add in resis, and I’m extra cool...��

Update. Toytec stated that they do not sell a 650lb srping that will work with a 2.5" shock body. SO if I keep these bilsteins on my GX they will have to be fitted with Eibach coils.

Right now I am running a bilstein TRD take off of a 2017 4runner but they have (reportedly (550lb springs). What I may do is just swap those for some real bilstein 6112s and see how the 600lb coil does. if its still too soft, then ill move up to the 650lb coils.
