Spyder headlight install issues

I had no idea! Thanks a million for linking to this. I will absolutely do this mod!

Happy to help. A word of caution: Use quality H9's and do your trimming inside the plug carefully and thoroughly to ensure that your plugs seat correctly. The 'it will melt your plugs' some people have experienced is likely a case of poor plug modding/seating and the electrical arcing that can result. The small increase in wattage from H11 to H9 is an unlikely culprit. Exhibit A: a 55W bulb draws 4.58A vs. 65W bulb draws 5.42A at 12 volts. I don't think an increase of less than 1 amp draw is likely to overload or melt your factory wiring or plugs.

disclaimer: I am an accountant, not an electrician.
