square or round tubing for rear lca's?

my understanding is (correct if i'm wrong) that square tubing is stronger than round tubing, so if i were to build my own set of links i was thinking about using square tubing. what are your guys thoughts on this?

Square might be stronger, but round is slipperier when confronted with sneaky granite...

Square tubing is is stronger along is X and Y axis but is much less along its z axis.

Round tubing would have the same strength in all directions.

LCA see a loads in all directions.

There's a reason roll cages are made from round tube rather than square, and this is it!

Good thing he's not building a roll cage. For the short little arms on 4runners, either will work fine as long as the right wall thickness is used. One major advantage to running DOM round tube is the abundance of companies making weld in threaded bungs for link ends which really makes this project a piece of cake.
