Squeaky belt...

So my serpentine belt is making some solid squeaky noises. It had done it before a few thousand miles ago so I replaced it, problem solved, until now. It only does it when it's cold outside and it has been raining though. I'm thinking it's my tensioner that may need to be replaced at this time. Anybody else have thoughts?

It's a 2003 with 60k on it, V6 by the way.

There was a TSB for the tensioner which included shims to properly align everything, but of course you are outside the warranty period. It is most noticeable when damp, but not necessarily wet. Cold, damp winter days are when the noise is most noticeable, and it tends to go away after a few minutes. I never hear it when damp and warm, just the winter months. It's the alignment of the pulleys, not anything a new belt will fix. The search isn't allowing me to find the TSB.

I hear this alot from the 2003's in my area, but it's more annoying than anything. The dealer will provide the fix, or course for $$$, but I guess you could do this yourself if somebody will find the TSB so you could get the shims parts numbers.

Resurection!!

I've gone in to the dealership about 9 months ago for this very same squeaky belt and was told that this is a known issue with 4runners. They said that my belt looked fine and that i should just use a toothbrush with WD-40 to lube my belt for the fix. Well after a dry summer without much of the squeal comes a damp cold fall and the squeak returns. Remembering what Toyota of Seattle told me I went forward with the Wd-40 and at first the squeal went away so I thought i was done with it. But, this morning...whooaaaa, now it's screaming!!

Does anyone have the TSB for the tensioner shims? I'm going in later this weak for a free oil change and i'd like to have this annoying noise fixed as well. Thanks.
