Squeaky Brake Pedal

Everytime I release my brake pedal it sounds like a long mouse squeak.

Is this something I can just throw some lubricating oil on and cure?

Mine does the same thing, but the squeak is coming from the booster. I only hear it when the engine is off so I've never been worried about it. Start lub-ing things, won't hurt.

I have never looked down there, the joint is accessed from the cab i presume?

You probably just have to put a dab of white lithium grease on the backing plate friction points. There are usually about six of them per side.

He only has one brake pedal, and it's on the drivers side.

Not sure if you're kidding or not (you probably are), but the friction points on the backing plates are part of the rear brake components. It's really common to get a squeeking sound when the lube dries up there....

That sounds pretty complicated to me. I am an average joe when it comes to cars. I learn quick but I have no clue what youre talking about.

I was talking about the hinge the pedal swings on. What are you talking about? If it's in my pay grade I will definitely try it.

It's possible for a brake pedal to squeek, but it's not at all common due to the inherent design. Most of the time if you hear a squeek related to your when you press or release your brake pedal, it probably has something to do with the brake compements themselves. One quick way to check is to have someone stand outside the vehicle and see if they can hear the squeek when you press/release the pedal.
