I purchased my 2009 Sport Edition back in June of this year. Since then, I have put about 6,000 miles on it with the majority of those miles coming from city driving.
Over the past month or so I've noticed that my brakes have begun squeaking (squealing) whenever I lightly apply pressure to them.
With this being the 4th car I've owned, all signs point to the brake pads needing to be replaced. However, considering the fact that the vehicle doesn't have very many miles on it, could it possibly be something else? I have to admit, it's pretty disheartening to think that the pads might need replacing after only 6 months of (primarily) city driving.
Also, I haven't looked yet, but off the top of anyone's head, would simple brake work be covered under the factory warranty? I would imagine that it would NOT, but then again I haven't bothered looking.
