squeaky charcoal canister

I have a 97 4Runner SR5 4WD with the 3.4L v6 (5VZ-FE)engine. When the vehicle is on it eventually starts making a squeaking sound that kind of sounds like a turkey call (only slightly higher pitched). It sounds like something spinning because it speeds up when I accelerate (it is not constant, more of a "wobble" sound). I popped the hood the last couple times it has been doing it and I think I have located it to the little "knobs" on top of the charcoal canister (or possibly inside the canister itself) because I can feel the unit vibrating when the squeak is "wobbling." I am posting this in both the 3rd Gen forum and the problems/warranty forum to hopefully increase my feedback. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also, my power antenna went out a out a year ago, it still makes the noise like the gears are running to raise/lower the antenna, it just doesn't move, anybody know if this is an easy fix?

Thanks again!

Don't know about the turkey call, but the antenna is an easy fix.

IIRC it's about $40 at the dealer and shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to fix.

You pull the old one out and feed the new one in. Again, IIRC, you have to take the nut on top of the antenna mount off to get the old one out.

My antenna is out too, but I don't use the broadcast signal so it doesn't matter. I have a Sirius radio direct fed to the deck.

Good luck!
