Squeaky Rear Seats?

Anybody have their rear seats squeak/creak when there are passengers sitting back there? I notice it all the time in my 2014 mostly during turns. It gets quite annoying. Thinking of putting some electrical tape around the seat hooks but are there any other remedies out there. I had a crazy idea of bringing into the stealership since it has 14k miles but I shouldn't hold my breath.

My 14 TE does the same thing. I've been fighting the dealership on blower motor issues so I haven't tried to get it fixed yet. Had the truck for about a year before I even noticed. Rarely have rear passengers. Not much help in the way of a fix, but you're not the only one with the problem.

...but seriously I haven't noticed that issue yet on my TE. Try some WD40 silicon spray perhaps?

I used electrical tape on mine when I redid the seats. It worked for me. I also had issues with the driver's door, three attempts and a lot of electrical tape and I fixed that rattle as well.

The seat brackets all have some cheap plastic in them. When temps drop below 30-40 the front driver seat has the squeak as well. The rear passenger seats always squeak when there's a passenger in it. Pretty shitty quality. I haven't gotten a chance to, but there was a thread on fixing the front seat. Something similar could probably be used for the rear as well.

Mine also squeaked when I had passengers back there. There is a TSB for the early 5th gens with a remedy for the same noise. They would install a plastic piece on the rear seat assembly to keep that from happening. I thought that would solve my problem but unfortunately the face lift 5th gens have different seat brackets than the early ones. So the part from the TSB won’t take care of the squeak. I ended up removing the rear seats and applying silicone grease to the where the seat pivots and the squeak is gone. I had three people in the back last week when I hit a small grade leading up to some railroad tracks doing about 60 mph and didn’t hear peep. Should’ve done a write up but figured I was the only one with that issue.

I did WD40 on mine and it solved it but it will need to be reapplied.

I'd recommend that if you use WD-40 to solve it, you need to apply something else to keep it solved. WD-40 isn't a lubricant, it's a Water Displacement formula.

Just my .02 that may keep you from getting it to 'reappear' in a short time.

Also, I found my noise in my driver's door panel was actually the leather on the arm rest rubbing the leather on the door. An application of leather seat conditioner completely solved the squeaking noise, instead of me tearing off the panel to hunt a loose fastener (which is what I was sure was the problem.) So, if you have the leather interior (yes, I know it's fake leather) you may want to try that unless you know it's coming from a spring noise or fastener location.

It's definitely coming from the passenger rear. And only when there is a passenger. Passenger confirmed.

I just don't know where to apply the lubricant? It seems to come from the backrest. When I fold it down I can duplicate the squeak. Do I apply at the hinges on the bottom?
