Squealing Belts or Pulleys?

Hey everyone, I have a constant squealing noise coming from either the belts or the pulleys on my 97 V6 4unner. Is there a way to simply tighten the belts? Also, what would be my next step to diagnose the problem? I noticed the same noise on my 2002 camry as well. Maybe it's a toyota thing...lol. I tried search to no avail so now I'm here asking the experts.

sounds like a loose belt or a dried out belt.

Can anyone provide a bit more information? I can't locate where to tighten the belt, and if the belt is dry is there any way to avoid replacement?
