Squealing/squeaking when turning on full lock...

Hi all,

I was turning out of a parking lot today, was on full lock going really slow to get around a parked car, and a squealing/squeaking noise started up (pretty sure from the front). Went away as soon as I turned out of the lock.

What might it be? The truck is stock so no lifts or anything to get in the way.

Some threads on other forums say it might be to do with the power steering, but just wanted to see if anyone had the same sort of problem so I can go to the shop armed with some info on Monday.

Plastic inner fender makes contact with tire sometimes. You wont notice unless tire is slightly wet and makes noise. It wont hurt a thing.

Grease the steering stops.

Funny - right hand turn noise when parking should have been my search string, but i thought that was too narrow.

It has to go to the dealer anyway for something else, so I'll have them check the position of the stops and grease it up.
