Squeeeeking brakes

Ok I had this problem before only to be rectified by the dealer for a short period of time. They have been quiet except in wet weather , now that fall is coming and it's cooler out and more damp they pretty much squeak all the time. It's annoying !

I think the rotors are fine ( they seem smooth , no grooves ) and want to just try new pads that won't squeak and dust (like wifes Ford Escape ) which has black dust rims in the front 10 miles after you clean the rims.

I will replace front and back pads , but what would you recommend .

Also what are the stock pads made out of or what type are they ( like Ceramic )??????

I like the pads because they don't dust , but the squeak is driving me nuts ,

The dealer fixed it the first time , I'll take it bad to them to see what they say , but want some education before or should I have an aftermarket shop do it ?

If you have pad life left then there is no need to replace them. Just go out and get some caliper grease / lube and clean and re lube your anti-squeal shim pads and pins. Put it all back together and the noise should be gone.

I had squeal problems from the factory, and i thought i needed to change my pads buy they had about 60% left so i just lubed it all up and 25k later still no noise.

I'm going to take it to a private shop. They are going to check pads and rotors .

If I need pads what should I have them put on ? I've heard napa gold was good .

same if I need rotors , Napa golds again ??

OK here is where this is at .....

I dropped it at a shop today to have the brakes checked for the squeeking. They pulled the rotors and pads . The pads were fine , the rotors were glazed ( smooth as a baby's bottom ) , so the took them all off and didn't turn them , but swirled them to get rid of some of the glaze.

Whats your thoughts on that.????

He also recommended I not turn them and should replace them if this does not work.

A few other questions. I do like how the pads don't dust , like on our Ford Escape. Why is that ?? What are they made of ?? Ceramic ?? anyone know ? What about TRD pads ?

What would cause the rotors to glaze to a super smooth surface ?? That should not happen ....correct ??

To me, rotors always glaze. What you don't want, is your rotors having in-deep groove lines and uneven wear.
