Squeeky squeeky

CRIVRUNNER

New member
Hi everyone...Just bought my first 4runner Yesterday. 1985 solid axle with EFI. Pretty nice with just a few little rust spots in the usual areas. Overall pretty decent though. I do have some work to do on it as per usual. To start the front axle seals need to be replaced along with all the other seals...Should be a fun Job. Might as well chuck some new bearings in there while Im at it. Im going to give it a good tune up and check all the valve clearances too. But there is something squeeky that I cant find. Its in the rear and happens after you let the clutch out and start accelerating. Forward or reverse. You can hear it as you gain speed but then road noise quickly drowns it out. I have never heard a sound like this before and have no clue what it is. Thought maybe it was the throwout bearing but I dont think it is. Wondering if anybody has experienced that before. Would love to hear some expert input.
