Hey all.
Brand spankin new Limited. Lease was up on the Taco.
Love it.

I have this strange squish sound when pressing the brake.
Almost like a squirting sound.
Am I just being ultra paranoid or do others have this issue?

I've had many Toyotas and never heard this sound.

Wanted to run it by the experts before I hit the dealership.

About to install my roof racks thanks to the info on here.
Thanks all.

It's normal. It sounds like hydraulics! My new TE makes the same sound!

Funny you posted this. Take this for what it's worth....... I noticed the same thing on my 2010 Limited. So I tried to recall if I've EVER noticed before. I didnt think I had, but then I could remember if it was something I just never noticed.

Anyways, I was in for my 15K mile service and I asked the techs to listen and look - I was thinking maybe vacuum line, booster leak, who knows. Anyways, they said nothing was wrong and it was normal. Considering I had no other info to go off of... So, that's what they say. I don't necessarily believe them, but I'm the skeptical sort, and have nothing to prove them wrong.

anyone else?

When I test drove mine I noticed it and the sales rep had a mechanic come out. If I remember correctly he said it is the break booster (?) and it is normal and nothing they can do about it. They all do it, some probably have not noticed. I actually never notice anymore, so funny when I saw this thread.

To the OP and the rest who have responded so far, "Search is your Friend". This issue has been discussed ad nausium over the past 2 years. Good luck and stay safe.

Mine, too.

My 2011 limited does it. My 2006 SR5 made the squish noise, too. I just assumed it was a 4Runner thing...I'm not worried.

Thanks all for your input.
I'll just turn the radio up and open the roof. =)

Sorry to have troubled you so Jtraskell
Thanks for your input too.

I might be new here, but NOT to forum world. Very active on "other topic" forums. That said, it is the new threads that keep forums from going stagnate. If you have seen it to many times do not open the thread, basic. I see X vs Y threads all time on another forum and it is VERY old, but that is because I have been on there for over 4 + years. Guess what? I do not read it.

OP "original poster" (definition since you might be new to forum world) - good question and in the appropriate location.

Rant over...

Correct, new threads. there are probably 25 threads on here relating to this specifically.

if you've been on forums for over 4 years you would appreciate and respect the fact that new users should search the forum for answers before creating new threads. new threads on redundant topics make it that much harder for those that do search for information. but of course you already know that.
