SR5 30K miles

Hey guys, not new to the site but new to posting. I've been a member, but mostly just lurking and reading info already provided to answer my questions.

However, I have been a little confused. I am coming up on my 30K service on my 2005 2wd sr5 and not to sure of what needs to be done. I go by the maintenance guide, and it only says to do the normal oil change. Should I be looking into anything else, such as the diff?

The car is not used for offroading or anything, just simple daily driving. I always go to the dealership (Longo Toyota) to do the maintenance, no other suggestions come from them.

Also, braking has seem to become an issue, while going freeway speeds, and braking the steering wheel tends to shake, what could be the problem?

Grease the zerks (2wd has three of them) on the drive shaft, replace the in-cabin air filter and the engine air filter. Do an oil & filter change -- which is easy with the V6, lubricate your door hinges and locks; and break out some wax/polish and some elbow grease to make it all look good.

Your spark plugs (4.0L V6) should be replaced as well. I waited until 32,000 on mine, but the owner's guide does say that 30k is the proper interval. The plugs in the V8 go for 100k, however. I paid the stealer $109 to do mine, but you can save money if you have the right tools and know how to do it yourself.

My guess is that you have a warped rotor. It won't hinder the ability to stop, but it is going to be rather annoying. With only 30k, you should not need new brake pads anytime soon; unless you really drive it very hard!

Not sure what maintenance schedule you're looking at, but the 30k is more invovled than a oil change. See this link: http://smg.toyotapartsandservice.com/

Jeff pretty much detailed it though, but if you have a V8 you don't have to change out the plugs yet.

I'd try rotating your tires to see if that affect the vibration. At 30k miles and OEM tires - not really worth rebalancing then IMHO. If its still there then probably a warped rotor. Have you had the tire put back on with a guy using an air powered rattle gun? That warps them fast! Proper method is to do final tigntening in star pattern with a torque wrench.

I am a maintenance freak, so I change all fluids each 30k miles (both diffs, coolant, transfer case, tranz atf, and sometimes I siphon out the power steering reservoir)

At 60k miles I replaced the serpentine belt and sprayed the MAF sensor.

my 4R is at 26k+ and should be hitting 30k soon. I'm readin the 30k mile service, and based on those lists they have, all i wanted from them is the "Replace Spark Plugs" as pretty much all the things mentioned there is DIY'able, except i can't do them all at once. Maybe rotate tires and oil change one day and do other stuff the next day.

They mentioned about "Inspect the following:

Automatic transmission fluid
Ball joints and dust covers
Brake lines and hoses
Brake linings/drums and brake pads/discs 7
Drive shaft boots (4WD)
Engine coolant 8
Exhaust pipes and mountings
Front differential oil (4WD)
Fuel lines and connections, fuel tank band and fuel tank vapor vent system hoses
Fuel tank cap gasket
Radiator, condenser and/or intercooler
Rear differential oil
Steering gear box
Steering linkage and boots
Transfer case oil (4WD)

You can just inspect these yourself. and most if not all is DIY. I'm no mechanic but since i drive conservatively and always choose better driving lines, no rough roads as much as possible. I'm positive that the truck is in good shape.
