SR5 Flares

IMO opinion the 4Runner looks naked with nothing on the fenders. I like the Limited flares but think they only really look great with 285s or bigger. I think the bigger black SR5/sport flares are the best, but you gotta have something.

I have seen guys take them off and paint them black and put them back on. Maybe give that a shot and if you don't like then you can remove them for good.

I'd call that trim rather than a flare.

yeah I am with Ronmaiden-the chrome is more of a trim, not a flare. I have been researching this for awhile now.

See my posting a few pages back "budget minded fender flares"

I am constantly spraying my body sides with moisture and mostly from the front wheel wells.

I am looking to step up an SR5 black plastic flare but they are no longer carried at most dealerships-cost is prohibitive at the ones that do have them. I believe an entire set would have been around $1200.

Bushwacker offerings could be as low as $355 from Sportztrailers
but I still see that as a lot of green for some black plastic. Call me cheap go ahead.....

I am considering building a set of Pacer products fender flares to use for "winter" use (i.e. wet) and then remove them in favor of the chrome trim for summer (mostly dry out here). I am intending to Herculine or otherwise roll on coat them.

Check out my thread too and see what you think.
