My advice would be get what you really want. If you have to save a few extra months for a lift after buying the limited it won't kill you. If you don't get what you want it will drive you crazy....I still wish I would have got a TE. Sometimes it literally keeps me up at night, lol.

Don't know about push button start (if available on an sr5), but I have 2 key fob's, very decent stereo for a Toyota, get a garmin (portable nav). Get a nice lift and tires without worrying about which fancy suspension thingy your screwing up that you paid a premium for because you forgot how to drive. :thumb3: Throw in a cai, and headers and you'll still save thousands over a limited.

I had the same thoughts did my homework and now have exactly what I want I'm more or less finished and love it for substantially less than the original cost of a limited.

A TE would have been cool though but for crying out loud the price for those is nuts. I just want the hood and that disconnect thing.

The main reason I bought a Limited was for the Torsen locking center diff. If you live south of the snow line, it probably isn't an issue.

The easy answer is to get the Limited - you can always add a lift later, but you can't change an SR5 to a Limited. I'm personally not a fan of the Limited's look, but I really like it's climate control, Torsen diff and Smartkey -- wish the TE had these. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that you won't be able to keep XREAS if you decide to lift the Limited, unless you do a top mount spacer lift.

I wish I can get a Special Custom w/ Limited w/ TE's drivetrain & SR5 wheels.

I vote for Limited.

Toyota should have offered the Trail Edition's features as an option package that could be added to the Limited OR the SR5. Wouldn't that have made more sense? I love Toyota, but I'll never understand the way the package options/vehicles, but somehow they manage to pull it off.

totally agree on that..thats is what ive been wishing...but i guess we all are second guessing ourselves before dropping 30-40k into a new truck

If you are willing to spend the extra 3 grand or so, get the Limited. It has what you are looking for. I didn't want to spend the extra $, so I got the SR5 4x4. I am totally happy with my SR5 since I don't really need/want the "bling" of the Limited. No regrets! One thing I do miss is the keyless entry/ignition, but that's about it. Now, if the Limited had an option for a V8, I would reconsider:). Good luck!

Same here, very happy with the SR5 - but over the last few months I find myself with full hands wishing I had the 'auto unlock' of the LE as I walk up to the 4R. I guess I could use the extra exercise though.....I lift things up and put them down... :)

How 'fricken" spoiled are we? We have 2 Nissan Murano's, both with keyless entry, plus my 07 vette has the same. Got very used to it. Too used to it I fear. Did you know you can actually lock your key's in the SR5? How stupid could I be. But with the keyless, it just does not happen. All three of my other cars will not allow you to lock your keys in the car. I now have an extra key hidden under the drivers door for the next time I have a cranial flatulation. (Brain Fart).

I really think you have to ask yourself what YOU really want...Of course the $$ is the factor that is driving you at the moment...Ask yourself, if you had the money for the limited right now, would this be an issue? To me the limited has a lot of subtle differences, gauges, auto climate+display, all black dash and console, no need to take your key out of your pocket, Torsen diff, and some others I can't think of at the moment. This is just my opinion though. I say get what you want, if you can afford it.

I just bought the SR5 in the Blizzard Pearl white with leather and JBL sound system. Very happy and I just had a viper alarm and remote start installed for much cheaper than Toyota does and it is just like the push button start in my old Highlander. So if you want to save money you can do that and have money for your lift. Next I will be buying the limted wheels and putting them on the SR5. Hope this helps alot.

Get what you can afford without breaking the bank. I tried to be good and just got a base SR5 with leather. That's it. I don't even have the premium audio with the wheel controls.

Yeah, I wish I would have got the limited with all the bells and whistles. But, you know what?? It's just a car. I can always sell it and upgrade. Don't let it keep you up at night. Find one you like and get it.

My wife's SUV has the "keyless go" and I like it alot. The only problem is that she keeps the keys in her purse instead of hanging them on the wall, where all the car keys belong. So, I have to go searching for it, which really pi$$es me off at times:bash:. Yes, we are spoiled!

No, you're just mildly irritated. If you want to see pi$$sed, turn your wife's purse upside down and empty it completely to find the key fob. :jaw drop:

To the OP: good luck with your decision. Drive them both and ask yourself how much you'd miss the goodies on the SR5 vs the extra cost for the Limited.

Funny you say that..... that's exactly what I do to my wife's purse. Great minds think alike!

I must have AWD, forced me into the Limited :redbrick: I was so excited over the new style, I wanted it all to be truthful. I spend to much time in my car to have Garmin's on window, etc. Love the hand touch lock/unlock. Totally spoiled with that, one of the best not discussed much features. Heck, it has a party mode button :guitar3: Nough said... Got about 34K on her right now and new shoes on the way.
