SR5 vs Sport

I'm looking for a new -to me- runner. I still haven't decided what exactly I want to do as far as multimode tcase vs normal. I do know that I want a 99 or 00 with a locker. Obviously if I decide on multi I will be getting a limited. But I have found a few 5 speeds, none with lockers yet though, and that's an option too. Looking online the dealers have a hard time listing sr5 or sport. They are pretty good about limited or sr5. So I need to know what the distinguishing elements are. Is the scoop the only thing or is there mote that will let me ID it as a sport?

For those years, the only other things the sport had was the color keyed bumpers, fender flares and hood scoop. Also those years of sports had the 5-star wheels where the regular SR5's only had the split 3-spokes.

So basically for you, its: Hood scoop, e-locker and 5-speed VS. Limited, e-locker and Multi-mode.

If it were me, id find a limited. But its up to you, not me.

I have yet to even see a 5 Speed with Elocker for sale anywhere within 500 miles of me.
IF you find one it may not be in great condition either.

I was originally looking for exactly what you are but a 2002 Sport Edition dropped in my lap and in hindsight I am glad it did.
There are several nice improvements over the 99-00' models and I really like this 02' Sport Edition, the options fit exactly what I need/want.

So if one of the 01' -02' SE pop up you might want to have a look, you might like it.

Ok. So the sport package is just appearance. If I can find a five speed with a locker I'll let you you. For my needs a limited would be better. The majority of my time will be getting around in the snow and such, not huge challenging crawls.

If you really don't NEED a locker, I would look for a 01-02. The TRAC and VSC systems actually do very well in the snow.
