Standard Air Filter

I am getting redy for a 400 mile road trip in my truck. I have about 20,000 miles on my(04) truck and I was thinking my air filter should need to be changed. So I began asking around the local automotive stores for a filter. And I am having a heck of a time trying to get it. I know I can go to the dealer and get it, but still. Do these air filters last longer and that is why I can't find one? Taking into mind that I have not even looked at the condition of the filter:bash: , I be looking at at the end of the day though.

The new 4Runner uses a pretty good filter. It is way more than just a plain old airfilter. It is supposed to last 30k miles normal driving. I replace mine every 10k as I go offroad a lot.

Once you look at it you will see what I mean, I would recommend to just get an Air Filter fromt he dealer. They are not that expensive for what you get.

The V8 and V6 uses different filters, I'm talking about the V8. I'm sure the V6 will use the same material in the filter, but dont know first hand.

Thanks for the insight bulldog. I will probably just go to the dealer, since I need it by today. Talk about waiting till the last minute.
