do all the 4th gen 4runners come with HAC standard? does it have to be 4wd models? is it a button to activate or is it like the vsc that just comes on? i don't see it in mine...i have the '06 v8 4x2, is it because it's a 4x2?

HAC (uphill Hill Start Assist Control) is standard, and just happens. It helps keep the truck from rolling back while you move your foot from the brake to the gas.

DAC (Downhill Assist Control) is on 4x4 only, and requires you to be in L4 and press a button to turn it on.

DAC does not require you to be in 4Lo. I have used it in 2wd, just for fun. It does require you to be 5mph or slower.

With 4wd it requires using 4wd low.
