Leave it to a Canadian to start a hockey thread, I know hockey doesnt have a very big following in the U.S. but for anyone who's interested here it goes.

I'd just like to start off by saying

GO FLAMES GO!

Who do you guys think is going to be the Dark horse this year and go further than anyone expected?

Oh a Canuck fan! If you werent a 4runner owner....lol just kidding.
I'd be dissappointed if my team didnt make it too, the flames cant really take credit for that, the oilers bailed us out on that one im ashamed to say. haha

Canada is due for a cup, we came so close recently! It might end up over in the east though unfortunately.

Im thinking Nashville might upset Detroit, at least I hope they do!

Ya dude , I think we lost 7 of our last 8 games and the last one was a 7 to 1 shameful lashing

BUT I still support them , good or bad :D

I'm a Wild fan and had to watch them play a flat game against the Avs last night and lose in OT on an unlucky bounce.

Damn Wild, having to play a division foe in the first round really sucks in some ways, but Gabby and Demitra need to pick it up.

Of course, having Nick Schultz out for round 1 won't help, either.

And what was with Boogaard on the power play? That guy can't skate or handle the puck for shit!

Ahhhhh!

Had to rant on some hockey.

Btw, it has quite the following up here in MN!

Boogaard on the powerplay? Im just as confused as you are.
I was hoping Calgary and Minne would be matched up for the 1st round but Colorado had to go and Tie that last regular season game instead of just losing it.

After watching the games last night I think Pittsburgh is going to sweep Ottawa, especially if Ottawa doesnt get Alfredson or Fisher in the line up asap, the shut them out 4-0 and Crosby didnt even register a point, Pittsburgh is dangerous this year.

Yah! The Flames have our number for some reason. The Wild can't win in Alberta, we always seem to get whopped up there, and I can't figure out why.

Boogaard was out there for PPs because Mark Parrish got his head all banged up in the second period.

The Wild won't make it past the Avs because they lack depth due to injuries. Its too bad because before Kurtis Foster and Nick Schultz went down, they had a decent D. When healthy, they are the best team in the Northwest, but if they played with what they currently have, they would have finished fourth or lower in the division.

Calgary up 2-1 against San Jose

Coming back from the Sharks being up 3-0 is exactly what the Sharks dont want. That come back crushed them and the Flames are gonna be all fired up for the next one.

Corey Sarich absolutely leveling Patrick Marleau (spelling?) was the turning point.

Still hard to tell who is going to take the western conference.

I think Pittsburgh has the east though

I couldn't believe how Calgary came back against a solid Shark team and the next game will just be that much more intense.

Colorado will host game 3 tonite after losing in OT the last game to the Wild.

That Colorado/Minnesota series will be close I think.

Im looking forward to seeing the next Detroit/Nashville game, the Predators arent too happy with the way the officials have been calling the game so It might be a bit more intense.

Nashville Sexual Predators

Avs have tied it up with Minnesota 2-2 going back to Minnesota tonight for game 5.

I had to title this with my son's observation that he has never heard the word "predator" without "sexual" in front of it, hence his new name for the team battling the Red Wings-and also at 2-2 in their series.

So now every time we hear the announce or the sportscaster say Nashville Predators we just giggle a little bit....Glad to see they are softening them up for us for the Conference finals!

I love this time of year but I need to move my satellite dish to the garage so I do not turn into a total couch potato. That way I could work on my ride and enjoy my hockey too. I do listen to a lot of Avalanche games on garage stereo/radio out there.

I like Montreal in the East-but we never get to see these teams so it's not like I know what I am talking about.

Yes,this is a huge classic matchup and something to fire up Denver a bit more since the Nuggets are halfway swept in their playoffs.
