start of a 3 day solo hike

Me and my runner at the trailhead. Packed and ready to go on a 3 day solo hike in the Cohutta Wilderness.

I looked it up to see just where it was...

Not far from Murphy N.C. where we stay each year. I really like that area (North GA. North Carolina, and Tenn.). Have fun.

Beautiful area, hope you left a detailed account with a friend of where you will be hiking/camping. Just like boating, always leave a travel plan with someone not going with you in case of emergency.

absolutely... left a detailed map of times and locations for each day with numbers for all the ranger stations with my wife and underneath my seat in my vehicle. this trip was epic!!!... despite a freak hail storm and a wild boar encounter.

half the fun was getting to the trailhead... driving the 4runner up a looooonng twisting gravel road with 2 creek crossings
