so i got robbed ....all my tools,, not just wrench tools but all my wood working tools.. even my 20 ton press, new in box rear bearing tool...the good one ...and prob nearly 1 k in new part for full suspension , wheel bearings front and back, brake restoration....so...cops cant do much...not blame on cops. Insurance is 2k deducible with proof and receipts of value...who keeps receipts for years and they are being butt heads...
hope those tweekers have an overdose...or they swing back by so I can bust a cap...
i thought being up here in the wilderness would be safe....tweekers are everywhere..

oddly enough they did not go into my dwelling...maybe someone or something came along

frickin tweekers

Ahhhh - so sorry to hear that man!! Did they break in or was it unlocked?

I left mine unlocked by accident a few months ago yet I got very lucky. Only some snot nosed kids went thru every possible storage area looking for money, dope or credit cards.

They took 4 bottled waters and my cheapest $20 drill and left all the good stuff, dumb kids.

Well at least your home is intact. While it stings, those are just objects. Not sure if it would help yet perhaps a camera and alarm maybe might prevent them from coming back? Best of luck.

Sorry to hear that. Thieves are everywhere. :( Glad your ok. Valid point though. Most of them have drug issues. It's a major society problem.

Man that sucks. you can try looking up CL ads or FB market place also call local pawn shops and tell em. Might get lucky.

Oh man, you'd be surprised. I have a cabin in the middle of the cascades, a solid hour drive from the nearest one horse town - yet its no uncommon to see little shanty towns here and there. The cabin itself was actually robbed a few years back; took our generators, power tools, gasoline and our muskets that have been in our family since the early 1800s. I'm still absurdly pissed about the muskets.
I'd damn near say there's probably more tweakers out there than near my home. They prefer it out there because it's off the grid and easier to commit crimes like B&E, easier for them to cook meth, etc. They just pick a spot, set up their trailers and wait a couple years until the state tells them to move. To which they just pack up and move 100 yards to the next bit of flat ground and repeat it all over again. Going even further north I can't imagine the issue gets much better, even as population thins. Very sorry to hear about your situation, but at least they didn't take the truck - there's always that.

I f*cking hate thieves. You just have to hope karma exists and those a-holes will be shit on big time by someone else one day. Yes it's just "Stuff", but it sucks to be a victim of theft. I also hope there's a special place in hell for those cork soakers.

yep it sucks...just added up just the new toyota parts that are gone...$994..and I was just gonna order another 850 from joe joe...plus all the tools and stuff sucks big time. I have a 2k deductable on household theft... state troopers ( live rural) are telling me that without receipts or serial numbers on tools they are pretty much gone and insurance is kind of saying the same thing....no prrof I had those tools....
was never good about keeping reciepts and stuff, especially when over the past 8 years I have moved 3 times....and some of the tools are very old...

and what are they gonna do with all the toyota parts....spoke to the local dealer ( only one in the area) and he said they wont be buying anything back without receipts and even if receipts only good for 30 days. I guess they can look up what they fit and try to sell....i will be watching craigslsit and facebook

oh well.....karma will nail those guys....or they will overdose on their ill gotten gains

so I guess over the next few weeks I will be spending about 2500 on parts and tools. Full suspension overhaul, full brake overhaul, timing belt kit, vc gaskets, injectors, every hose under the hood, water and vacum. front and rear wheel bearings, ....that was the plan for this summer for this 22 year old rig.

im still pretty pissed

Wow that sucks man. Especially in your neck of the woods, like how many places to fence stolen stuff is there? Call all the pawn shops in a 50-100 mile radius and give them a list of what was taken. I bet you the thieves are too dumb to split up the haul to avoid detection.

It's happened to many of us. My work truck was broken into years ago, $20K loss claimed against insurance, they covered replacement value on everything. Thank god I didn't have any customer's property in the truck that night, and it was parked right in front of my house.

I hope crooks like that get what's coming to them. Karma's a *****.

Glad you're okay.

That really pisses me off and it's not even my stuff. Completely unacceptable. I wouldn't be handling it nearly as well as you are.

yep, there not many pawn shops around here and I hit them. From what one person told me...is that they will make a big haul ( like several robberies), take it to anchorage ( 300 miles) where there are lots more pawn shops ,(some shady) and also anchorage is where lots go to get thier drugs....so they make one big trip of it

I'm pissed with you, I had this happen to me quite a while ago. Not as much stuff but it was all my hand tools, including like jig saws, drills, all that kind of stuff. Never got any of it back. it still stings when I think about it.

one thing I do now, once a year a go around and video inventory all my stuff so I could remember all the stuff if I was able to file a claim.

The sad fact is most of us have large deductibles, because in the end insurance is about catastrophic loss. they usually take less than the deductible.

I have a couple of flash drives with the different years, I only keep a couple on backlog but still.

anybody who steals others things... it boils my blood.

kind of an update.....nothing to report. Plus the place was not securely locked....family place, rural dead end road, usually someone is home, big dog..troppers asked if I thought it might have been someone who knew the place....like a contractor that was in during the past few months or my grandsons X and her new boyfriend.
And since they did leave some stuff behind and did not enter either dwelling, the troopers think they were scared off. But then again, the dwellings had barking dogs.

Since then I have gone through everything major I have and took pictures and pictures of the serial numbers. Then did the same in my dwelling. Any receipt I still have is secured, My son has since done the same. Every tool I buy from this point out will get engraved. Security cameras now in place ( with big signs) as well as trail cams in the woods in case they take out the security cameras....if they come back.

so folks take pictures, keep receipts, engrave. and as mentioned in another post above, even take pictures of all your tools in your tool box. like with the drawer open

Inventory with the pictures and receipts is definitely a big help along with serials. Great information to pass on to others to help reduce losses from the thieves of this world
