Starter not disengaging?

I've had this weird noise for a few months now and I want to fix the problem. I've googled and search yotatech and found a video of the same noise I have. The guy on Yotatech replaced his started and it fixed his problem but my question is can I replace the contacts and plunger like others have? or is this a different problem where the whole starter is the problem? I would ask the original poster but he hasn't been active for 2 years.

Your starter gear is not returning. This is due to dust from the brush + grease accumulated in the gear setup and/or plunger area.

You will have to remove the starter

Dismantle it and clean everything. Put things back with LITTE BIT of graphite grease in the gear wheel area. You can also install new set of contacts.

DO NOT drive it like that, unless you want to buy a new starter.

You'll wear it out, heat it up, and kill it faster than a rabbit will make babies.

I seem to have a noise issue when I start the truck as well. It cranks fine, but on the final crank a loud metal clang happens, almost like a metal shield is being struck. After the truck starts it runs as normal, no issues. So this is making me lean towards some starter issue...Any ideas? Maybe the starter isn't disengaging fully? Starter contacts worn out?

The truck does have 193k on it.
