Starting Exhaust project.. Advice??

I have a 2001 T4r 4x4 and just bought a new Flowmaster super 44 and a 90 degree elbow to make a side exit. Has anyone had any luck with stainless steel band clamps, or are U bolt clamps the way to go??

Only use u-bolts or clamps to get it to the shop to have it welded. Should be cheap. My tip would be to not chop open your thumb with a sawzall, it sucks.

Haha cant suck as bad as taking the old muffler off with a hacksaw, I have access to an arc welder, however i was trying to avoid welding to keep my options open.. NH has very vague exhaust modification policies

Arc weld exhaust tubing? Dont put yourself through that kind of strife lol. If you have to use clamps go for the best band clamps you can get, the u-bolt kind kink the tube and you nearly have to cut it all up to get it back apart.

Ok thanks for the advice ill give it a shot today with some band clamps. If we like the sound (we, meaning me and the local law enforcement) then i will probably try to have it welded. I just have too many friends with welding equipment to justify taking it to the shop and paying someone for three welds..
