Starting in morning roughness

When I start my '08 V6 T4R in the morning it sounds like a diesel.. knocking & sputtering like crazy for about 10 sec then it smooths out. Very odd, almost like it has no oil pressure or something. Anyone elses do this?

Is this something that has recently started? Can it be linked to a recent oil change or some type of service?

My first thought is improper oil weight. The next is a plug misfiring until it begins to heat and my third is fuel delivery.

its an 08 it's under warranty... and dont clean the MAF, if it was a dirty or faulty maf you would have bad acceleracion and a check engine light.. dont use seafoam on an 08 your wasting your money, because after rebuilding about 100+ toyota motors there is usually no deposit's in the motor.. sounds like your vvti timing gear needs to be replaced..

u dont always get a check engine light with a slightly dirty maf or TB, it can start out with less mpg , goes to rough at idle, then starts acceleration problems, thats when the check engine light comes on, at least thats the way it was on mine. not that the op has one, but a wet filter can lead to a fouled maf on a brand new vec. it happened more than once on my 4r when i first got it. theres also nothing wrong with using techron or something similar once a year. i agree its most likely not the problem but it doesnt hurt to do these things yearly as preventive maintenance. to each his own. http://www.ehow.com/list_5818961_signs-mass-air-flow-sensor.html

i completely agree with you.. but with a early morning knock or rattle it is definently mechanical.. take it to the dealer your under warranty keep us posted
