When i'm in the car, and the volume is at zero on AUX. CD. OR USB, there is static. not too bad but when i turn it up its awful, i know that static is kind of normal but this almost seems like too much.

I hate this! Help?!

I assume you have aftermarket audio accessories. Check your wire connections and your grounds. Make sure they're tight.

What source is causing this? All only some? Whats your audio setup?

It's worst with CD source and AUX source.

I have a Pioneer head unit and a set of 6.5 Type S comps in my rear doors that were installed very ghetto like with the factory harness...

Bad RCA's maybe?

Check all your wirings. Make sure they're snug and tight and not curled up somewhere. I know it's a pain in the assss to open up everything but it'll be worth it. Test it before you put everything back together.

Urgh. I'll have to when I do my amp anyway.

Static is NOT normal unless you mean rf type on radio. Def sounds like a connection or ground. Does it happen absolutely ALL the time as in moving, sitting still, all sources etc etc? If pretty much all sources I would start at the head unit connections and work my way out from there and hope it isn't inside the head unit...GL

All sources, all the time. The tweets are exceptionally harsh on my recently installed Type S components - but I definitely think that has to do with their connection, I kind of half-assed that.

So it's the ground hopefully - i had a shop do my head unit install, so i'm not exactly sure where they grounded it, but we shall see I guess!

Thanks Savage!
