Stealth Sub Install

Working with a local shop in Tampa on some sound upgrades.... this is what they came up with for the 5th gen (I have 3rd row) so thought I'd share. Not sure if this person is a member here or not... plan is to retain the factory HU, replace all door speakers, install 3 amps and this JL Audio 10w6 enclosure

Maximum Audio on Dale Mabry. I haven't swapped anything yet. In the engineering/buying phase right now

Is this a custom fabricated box or did they find this pre-made? I am looking at something similar and my local shop recommended one from JL but when I checked with them directly, they told me it only fits 2003-2009 4Runners and won't fit the 5th gens. I might go the route of putting something under the passenger seat for the time being. Probably won't be as responsive as yours in the back.

I wish someone would mass produce a 4Runner sub enclosure already!

I know OEM Audio Plus has a vehicle specific system in development but it’s not available today, will likely to cost around $1200 and does not include door speakers.

Mind sharing the price range you went on all 3 amps + sub + speakers + labor? I spent already on FOCAL replacements and sub/amp combo underneath the driver seat. I still think I could upgrade it some more but I'm going to shop around to the different shops.

Be cool to hear the cost of the box. Sounds like there is interest here, might be a good side business for your custom installer!

What is the box made out of? Looks like a similar vinyl that the charcoal gray interior has in the rear compartment.

I saw your build. They did a really nice job with that box, i'm looking to do the same. Hard to tell from the pic but is the box all fiberglass?

Also, did you remove the dash and hatch door speakers and just go with a 4 speaker setup? How many amplifiers are you running?
