Hi all. I have a 2005 SR5 4Runner and in the future here I would like to do a bit of upgrading to my stock sound system. So of course being that I have a SR5 I have a non-JBL sound system without a subwoofer. For my setup I don't want anything crazy just plan on at least doing a nice replacement upgrades to the speakers but I thought also adding in the JBL factory subwoofer setup in our back panel with a upgraded speaker in that too would be nice. I have a Pioneer DMH-1500NEX in my truck right now that I installed a few months ago which has been great so far. But I wanted to ask any of you audio nerds who know more about sound. So if I sourced a factory JBL box with the factory amp would I be able to wire up to my pioneer head unit? I thought I saw somewhere that the JBL amp could only be used with the factory JBL head units but wasn't sure if that is true or not. I like the integration of the factory JBL box in the rear side panel as I go off roading so having a regular loose sub box isn't feasible for me and I don't like the loss of cargo space with a regular box. I would also like to do sound deadening at least on the doors too when I do the speakers. Any info is appreciated. thanks
